ACC Testing Role 2006 - Wellington

I worked in the largest testing team in New Zealand at the time, so there was a multtude of experienced people to learn from and work with. The major project was to test the new CMS system that ACC is going to use. This system deals with the whole process of injury cover, claims, weekly compensation etc.
The new system "Fineos" is replacing the old system pathway, and I was testing both the new application, and more specifically the reporting portal that the new system uses. There was a really big learning curve in this role, as in order to test the application or the reports then it is necessary to fully understand the working of the business and the system as a whole. My duties were as follows

  • Studied Requirement documents produced by the business anylists, produced test plans and test cases, executed these tests and studied the results, producing defects where necessary and performing regression testing on these
  • Organised and hosted weekly defect meetings
  • Developed weekly status reports for my team
  • worked with many applications such as Clearquest, MFP Pathway,
  • Automated the majority of my test plans using Rational Robot
